Johnson had already won five in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Dayton Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Johnson pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Johnson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Cranford on the 4th. As for Dayton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-3 victory against Westfield on the 4th.
