Baseball Recap: Cumby Comes Up Short

Cumby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Alba-Golden Panthers. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cumby saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Montgomery Benton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Osvaldo Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Cumby's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Alba-Golden, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

While Cumby had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
