Soccer Game Preview: Mission Oak vs. Hanford

The Mission Oak Hawks will square off against the Hanford Bullpups at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Mission Oak's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Tulare Union out 1-0. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the The Tribe are ranked 841st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mission Oak's one-goal win came courtesy of Nathan Sanchez, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Hanford waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 3-2.

Hanford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for Mission Oak, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3-3.
