Citrus moved up to 209 from 240 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 5. The Hurricanes were able to make move up by beating Lake Weir 63-41.

Gainesville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Madison County, 14-9. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

The Hurricanes' dynamic duo of Cutler Blackburn and Khamel Reynolds proved tough for Citrus to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Blackburn threw for 564 yards and four touchdowns and Reynolds had 176 yards receiving. Shawn Evans helped Lake Weir's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 154 yards.

Tyronte Files was the most productive running back in the league this week. In nine carries, he ran for 87 yards as Vanguard fell to Rayburn Green's team. Teammate Rashad Sweet added to the ground attack by rushing for 70 yards.

Jason Robinson's team's Blackburn and Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A District 5 in both passing and receiving yards. Blackburn has thrown for 1279 yards this season, while Evans has 39 catches for 572 yards. Files from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 753 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Vanguard takes on the Hurricanes. At the moment, Alex Casteneda's team is in third, while Citrus is in second.

There should be lots of points scored when the Knights and the Hurricanes face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Vanguard comes in having scored 205 this season, while Citrus has scored 176. The Knights scored 48 points last week as they topped Lecanto.

Gainesville and the Cowboys played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Gainesville eventually emerging with a 14-9 victory.
