Basketball Recap: Williams Field Comes Up Short

Williams Field has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 75-65 to the Higley Knights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Black Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Knights are ranked tenth).

Noah Gloor was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 24 en route to 34 points and five boards for Higley. The matchup was Gloor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Donovan Dabney, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Williams Field's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Higley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Williams Field will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Highland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. As for Higley, they will head out to square off against Queen Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Higley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.1 points per game this season.
