Football Recap: Summit's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Summit's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Anthony Saints a 21-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the SkyHawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Saints are ranked 390th).

Marcus Cazares went supernova, rushing for 111 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Summit's record is now 3-1. As for St. Anthony, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Summit will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for St. Anthony, they will take on Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
