Baseball Recap: Dixie Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Dixie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Brookville Blue Devils by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Garrett Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Brookville and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Dixie will be playing at home against Seneca at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brookville, they will take on Waynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
