Basketball Recap: Tonopah Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mineral County two weeks ago, Tonopah came back down to earth. The Tonopah Muckers fell 42-33 to the Pahranagat Valley Panthers on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Muckers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Tonopah still got an impressive performance from Trinity Blackburn, who posted 12 points and three steals. Blackburn has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Emily Abbott also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Tonopah's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Pahranagat Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Tonopah has already played their next match, a 36-32 win against Lund on the 8th. As for Pahranagat Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-12 victory against Sandy Valley on the 10th.
