The Lamar Thunder will be playing at home against the Custer County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Lamar strolled past La Junta with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. Given Lamar's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while La Junta is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lamar found their leader in underclassman Alex Williams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Jacob Dunning was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Custer County was able to grind out a solid victory over Cripple Creek-Victor on Monday, taking the game 47-37.

Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Custer County, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Lamar was taken down by Custer County 72-39 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Lamar have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
