Softball Game Preview: Livonia Bulldogs vs. Hornell Red Raiders

The Livonia Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Hornell Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Livonia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Livonia and Dansville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Mustangs. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Livonia let McKenna Collins and Alex McKeel run wild. Collins went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while McKeel went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI McKeel has posted since back in April. Ava Cook also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Hornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-0 to Wellsville. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Livonia's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hornell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Livonia came up short against Hornell when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
