Softball Game Preview: Centennial Spartans vs. Burleson Elks

The Centennial Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Burleson Elks at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Centennial sitting on three straight victories and Burleson on nine.

Centennial's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Joshua's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Spartans walked away with an 11-7 win over the Owls.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burleson). They blew past Seguin 25-0 on Friday. Give the Elks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 15-6-1. As for Burleson, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Centennial couldn't quite get it done against Burleson in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 5-1. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
