Basketball Game Preview: Lake View Wildcats vs. Highland Park Giants

Having just played yesterday, the Lake View Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Park Giants at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Lake View is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Taft just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Eagles since December 6, 2017.

Meanwhile, Highland Park beat Vernon Hills 45-33 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Giants.

Highland Park is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Lake View, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.

Lake View came up short against Highland Park when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 48-40. Can Lake View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
