Firth is a perfect 10-0 against Salmon since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Savages at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Firth's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Declo. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Michael Adams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Darrell Vasquez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Firth's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kamdon Bott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Firth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Declo only posted an OBP of .188.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Salmon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Jefferson with a sharp 16-1 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Savages in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.
Wyatt Pilkerton was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Pilkerton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Clayton Allen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Reuel McCallum was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Firth's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Salmon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Firth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Salmon struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Firth's way against Salmon when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Firth made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Savages have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
