Softball Game Preview: Andress Eagles vs. Canutillo Eagles

Andress is 1-9 against Canutillo since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Andress will be playing in front of their home fans against Canutillo at 6:00 p.m. Andress has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Andress came up short against Jefferson on Tuesday, falling 13-2.

Brecais Montes was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Canutillo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on El Paso with a sharp 18-2 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Canutillo's victory bumped their record up to 7-20. As for Andress, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Andress hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Canutillo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
