Football Recap: Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds vs. Custer County Bobcats
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sangre de Cristo). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Custer County Bobcats 54-16. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Thunderbirds considering their six-point performance the contest before.
Custer County's loss came despite strong showings from Agi Thomas and Wyatt Grundy. Thomas picked up 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Grundy gained 140 total yards. Thomas' longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards.
Sangre de Cristo's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Custer County, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
As of now, neither Sangre de Cristo nor Custer County have any future games scheduled.
