Volleyball Recap: Brodhead's Run of Eight Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of eight wins, Brodhead's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Edgerton Crimson Tide by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Brodhead took Edgerton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-17, 17-25, 15-11.

Brynn Riesterer paced Brodhead's offense, picking up 19 kills. Riesterer got some help from Gretchen Kammerer and her 43 assists. Addie Leifker controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Brodhead's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Edgerton, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Brodhead and Edgerton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked 86th) will meet Big Foot (ranked 346th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edgerton will square off against Stoughton at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (51 vs. 266).
