Basketball Recap: Moses Brown Quakers vs. Mt. Pleasant Kilties
The Moses Brown Quakers waltzed into their contest on Friday with 13 straight wins but they left with 14. They blew past Mt. Pleasant, posting a 57-14 win at home. Moses Brown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Moses Brown was led to victory by Vivian Stone and Marielle Nassiff. Stone scored six points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Nassiff scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nassiff has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elise Kurtis, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Moses Brown's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Moses Brown will head out on the road to square off against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Hope will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Rhode Island Rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Quakers are ranked first). As for Mt. Pleasant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunderbolts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
