Basketball Recap: Colerain Comes Up Short

Colerain played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Sycamore Aviators, falling 72-48. The Cardinals were down 52-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Brooke Burgess was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds for Sycamore. Burgess continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Christerson was another key player, going 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Colerain and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Sycamore, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Colerain has already played their next contest (against Lakota West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sycamore will challenge Hamilton at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Sycamore is facing Hamilton at the right time seeing as Hamilton is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
