Baseball Recap: Rogers Has No Trouble Against Hatton

Rogers made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hatton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pirates blew past the Hornets 13-3 on Monday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Rogers let Jacob Lee and Curtis Campbell run wild. Lee scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Campbell scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in March. Ty Caperton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hatton only posted an OBP of .381.

Rogers is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Hatton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season.

Rogers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hatton, they will take on Brewer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
