Recap: Elko Indians vs. West Wendover Wolverines

On Thursday, the Elko Indians's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Everything went their way against West Wendover as Elko made off with a 64-43 win. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Elko did.

Elko got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Tinkorang out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bernard Fesenmaier, who scored 13 points.

West Wendover's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Adryan Carlos, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds, and Osvaldo Carrillo who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Teague Neilson was another key contributor, scoring 2 points.

Elko's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for West Wendover, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Elko won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Reno at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Reno focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for West Wendover, they will head out on the road to face off against Lowry at 6:29 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Lowry is ranked 51st, while West Wendover is ranked 62nd).
