Recap: St. Xavier Bombers vs. Elder Panthers

The St. Xavier Bombers lost against the Elder Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. St. Xavier fell 45-36 to the Panthers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Xavier has scored all season.

Several Bombers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Fish, who scored ten points. Jacob Wassler was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.

St. Xavier's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Elder, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

St. Xavier will take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cincinnati College Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Bombers are ranked 28th). As for Elder, they will head out on the road to face off against the Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fairmont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Panthers likes a good challenge.
