Baseball Game Preview: North Allegheny Tigers vs. Central Catholic Vikings

For the second straight game, North Allegheny will face off against Central Catholic. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Allegheny has seven straight wins, Central Catholic has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If North Allegheny beats Central Catholic with six runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Tigers came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 20, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Liam Cooper looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Miles Pealer was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mason Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

North Allegheny's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
