Basketball Recap: Custer County Comes Up Short

Custer County lost against Florence back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Custer County Bobcats had to suffer through a 51-22 loss at the hands of the Florence Huskies.

Leading Florence to victory were Claire Bosley and Kaydence Martinez. Bosley went 5-for-12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals, while Martinez went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Bosley is becoming a predictor of Florence's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 3-1 (and 4-9 when she doesn't). Naomi McWillams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Custer County's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Florence, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Custer County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 28-26 defeat against Vail Christian on the 12th. As for Florence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-21 loss against Ellicott on the 13th.
