Baseball Recap: Central of Clay County Takes a Loss

Central of Clay County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Shelby County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelby County Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Volunteers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Central of Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Shelby County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central of Clay County will venture away from home to take on Randolph County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shelby County, they will head out on the road to square off against Coalfield at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
