Recap: Marshfield Tigers vs. New Richmond Tigers
The Marshfield Tigers lost against the New Richmond Tigers back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Marshfield falling 39-22. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 113th, while New Richmond is ranked tenth).
Marshfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Anderson, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. Brooks Hinson was another key contributor, picking up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Miles Burke went supernova for New Richmond, rushing for 266 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. Kyle Germain made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for New Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Marshfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Richmond will take on Menomonie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Menomonie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
