Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. La Joya Community Fighting Lobos

The Fairfax Stampede will head out on the road to face off against the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fairfax's tournament run continued when they took on Youngker on Saturday. Fairfax lost 21-9 to Youngker. The Stampede have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairfax saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivan Avendano, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another was Isaiah Balderas, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, La Joya Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-1 to Willow Canyon, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

La Joya Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

La Joya Community's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairfax has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. It's a different story for La Joya Community, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Fairfax's hitters?

Fairfax came out on top in a nail-biter against La Joya Community in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, sneaking past 4-3. Will Fairfax repeat their success, or does La Joya Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
