Baseball Recap: Sturgeon Bay Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sturgeon Bay extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 6-5 in the process. They came out on top against the Southern Door Eagles by a score of 6-2. The game was the first time the Clippers have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 11, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Steven Prescott, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Patrick Haese was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Sturgeon Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Door only posted an OBP of .250.

As for Southern Door, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Southern Door's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Neinas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Nicholas Beck also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
