Basketball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Gainesville Leopards

Sanger hasn't had much luck against Gainesville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sanger Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Gainesville Leopards at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Sanger's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

On Friday, Sanger was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-61 to Lake Dallas. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Indians came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Falcons are ranked 361st).

Meanwhile, Gainesville posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Sam Rayburn. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Leopards.

Sanger's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4. As for Gainesville, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Sanger came up short against Gainesville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 61-55. Can Sanger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
