It's playoff time, and Heritage had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Sherando Warriors 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Pride sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Aaron Van Tuyle made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Heritage: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

Van Tuyle wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Miskelly, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Sherando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.

Coming up, Heritage will challenge Atlee at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Pride surely won't give up without a fight. Sherando does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
