Basketball Recap: Eastbrook Takes Down Ranked Frankton

Eastbrook faced Frankton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Panthers walked away with a 57-44 victory over the Eagles. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 50-33 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eastbrook's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bodie Howell, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 22 points and seven boards. What's more, Howell posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyler Hackman, who put up 15 points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Frankton still got an impressive performance from Trey Bennett, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 50% of the Eagles' points, marking the third time in a row Bennett has earned more than a third of the team's points. Ashton Brobston also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win (which was Eastbrook's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. As for Frankton, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.
