Preview: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Milby Buffs
After five games on the road, Sharpstown is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Milby Buffs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sharpstown comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Sharpstown managed to keep up with Austin until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Sharpstown was the victim of a tough 34-13 loss at the hands of Austin.
Meanwhile, Milby suffered a rough 48-24 defeat at the hands of Heights on Monday. Milby was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Despite the defeat, Milby had strong showings from Kaylee Cerna, who scored four points, and Alanys Perez, who scored four points.
Sharpstown's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Milby, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
