Basketball Game Preview: Beech Grove Hornets vs. Indian Creek Braves

Beech Grove is 2-8 against Indian Creek since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Beech Grove Hornets will take on the Indian Creek Braves at 6:00 p.m.

Beech Grove is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Triton Central on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Beech Grove lost 52-31 to Triton Central. The Hornets were down 48-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Beech Grove's loss came about despite a quality game from Emma Micks, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek beat South Putnam 56-45 on Wednesday. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Eagles are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Indian Creek is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Beech Grove, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-11.

Beech Grove came up short against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 56-51. Can Beech Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
