Baseball Recap: Columbia Wildcats vs. Ridgevue Warhawks

Columbia lost against Ridgevue back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Columbia Wildcats lost 14-7 to the Ridgevue Warhawks. Columbia has not had much luck with Ridgevue recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hunter Christensen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.

On Ridgevue's side, Bryson Oswald was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Oswald has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Oswald was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

In other batting news, Logan Hirasaki was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Chance Schreiber was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Ridgevue, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.
