Recap: Palmer Dragons vs. Coahoma County Red Panthers
While it was all tied up 19-19 at halftime, the Palmer Dragons were not quite the Coahoma County Red Panthers's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Palmer fell to Coahoma County 46-41. While losing is never fun, Palmer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Coahoma County is ranked 65th).
Coahoma County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Harlem Bell led the charge by scoring 11 points. Jerasmus Eagins was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Palmer's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Coahoma County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmer will challenge Leflore County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coahoma County, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Greenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
