Football Recap: Lake Howell Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lake Brantley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Howell). They blew past the Lake Brantley Patriots 31-6 on Tuesday. Given the Silverhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Patriots are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Howell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marley Hamilton, Gabriella Torres, and Rylie Messenger picked up one apiece.

Lake Howell's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lake Brantley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Howell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DeLand at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Lake Howell 5, DeLand 10) so any points scored will be well earned. Lake Brantley also won't see the field for a while: their next matchup is against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Seminole's defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so Lake Brantley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
