Baseball Recap: Bernie Comes Up Short

Bernie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the Caruthersville Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in April.

Bernie's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Caruthersville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-10.

Bernie wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against South Pemiscot on the 17th. As for Caruthersville, they will take on Twin Rivers at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.5, the Royals 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
