Baseball Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

Wheeling made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hoffman Estates, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 18th.

Wheeling has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Hoffman Estates, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeling will face off against Glenbard South at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hoffman Estates, they will challenge Conant at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
