Vistamar comes up short despite Isaiah Hill's dominant performance

The Vistamar Vikings were the 48-45 winner over the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Vistamar fell just short of Hawthorne Math & Science Academy by a score of 46-44.

Despite the loss, Vistamar still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Hill, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. Hill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Sebastian Eckstein was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.

Vistamar's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vistamar will challenge California Academy of Math & Science at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California Academy of Math & Science is on a three-game streak of home wins, Vistamar a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rolling Hills Prep at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Rolling Hills Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hawthorne Math & Science Academy in California (Rolling Hills Prep is ranked 122nd, while Hawthorne Math & Science Academy is ranked 872nd).
