Soccer Game Preview: Lovejoy vs. Lone Star

The Lovejoy Leopards will square off against the Lone Star Rangers on Monday. Lovejoy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Lovejoy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Whitehouse a 6-0 shutout. Considering Lovejoy have won 13 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lone Star made easy work of Memorial on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Lone Star hit Memorial with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Allison Gonzales, BraqElle Raisey, and Kenzie Hertel.

Lone Star's victory bumped their record up to 12-4-3. As for Lovejoy, their win bumped their record up to 19-1-1.

Lovejoy came up short against Lone Star when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Lovejoy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
