Basketball Recap: Olivia Soto Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rock Canyon, Fairview was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They secured a 42-37 W over the Heritage Eagles.

Fairview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Soto, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points gave Soto a new career-high. Alice Rowe was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Fairview was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted six assists.

Despite the loss, Heritage had strong showings from Meilla Collins, who put up 14 points, and Skylar Peterson, who had ten points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Sanchez, who posted three points and five steals.

Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Heritage, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Fairview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-27 defeat against Boulder on the 14th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-34 loss against Evergreen on the 14th.
