Wayne Valley entered their tilt with North Bergen on Saturday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-44 W against the Bruins. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bruins are ranked 232nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Veale led the charge by going 7-for-14 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyle Betz, who posted six points and seven assists.

Wayne Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for North Bergen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
