Baseball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Monrovia Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Triton Central will face off against Monrovia. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Triton Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Triton Central got the win against Monrovia by a conclusive 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Bo West and Brayden Hoover did most of the damage at the plate: West went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Hoover went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Hoover a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Bergman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Triton Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monrovia only posted a batting average of .211.

Monrovia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Triton Central, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Triton Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game.
