Softball Recap: United South Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

United South never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Del Rio Rams. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Danyka Charles's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Andrea Guerrero was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Venegas, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

United South hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

United South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Del Rio dropped their record down to 5-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, United South and Del Rio will both be playing Medina Valley the next time they take the field. United South will head out to face Medina Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Del Rio will host them at 7:15 p.m. on March 18th.
