The Pieper Warriors will face off against the Jay Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pieper is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Boerne-Champion just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 51-44 to the Chargers.

The match pitted two dominant wideouts against one another in Cash Lancaster and Brogan Dempsey. Dempsey had a great game and picked up 180 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Meanwhile, Lancaster was balling out in the loss, picking up 128 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Pieper's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Laiton Springer refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Pieper got some further help from Springer: he picked up two sacks and made 13 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Jay entered their tilt with Southside on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They really took it to the Cardinals for the full four quarters, racking up a 37-6 victory. With the Mustangs ahead 30-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Pieper better focus on containing Tajari Wellington and Brennan Oliver as the pair were huge in Jay's win. Wellington threw for 143 yards and one TD on only 12 passes, while Oliver rushed for 49 yards and one score.

Jay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Victor Baldwin and Wallace Wellington. Baldwin is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played. Mario Cardenas was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.

Jay's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Pieper, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
