Recap: Proviso West Panthers vs. Downers Grove North Trojans
The Proviso West Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-28 bruising from Downers Grove North. While losing is never fun, Proviso West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Downers Grove North is ranked 56th).
It was another big night for Hope Sebek, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds for Downers Grove North. Ann Stephens was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Proviso West's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Downers Grove North, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Proviso West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orangeville at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Downers Grove North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Downers Grove South at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th.
