Baseball Game Preview: Saltillo Tigers vs. Lake Cormorant

For the second straight game, Saltillo will face off against Lake Cormorant. The Tigers will welcome Lake Cormorant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Saltillo has 15 straight wins, Lake Cormorant has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Saltillo got the win against Lake Cormorant by a conclusive 10-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

JORDAN EVERS spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, BAYLOR ROBERTS was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). COOPER BURLESON was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Saltillo's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Cormorant, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
