Baseball Game Preview: Giddings Buffaloes vs. Smithville Tigers

The Giddings Buffaloes are taking a road trip to face off against the Smithville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Giddings turned things around against Anderson-Shiro on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Fighting Owls.

Meanwhile, while Smithville put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Luling. Smithville blew past Luling 10-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Smithville's record is now 9-6. As for Giddings, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.

Giddings came up short against Smithville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can Giddings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
