Baseball Recap: Ursuline Gets the Win

Ursuline got themselves on the board against West Branch on Tuesday, but West Branch never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Warriors. The Fighting Irish were shut out 6-0 the last time they took on the Warriors, so the Fighting Irish were just returning the favor.

The result came thanks to Joe Balog's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Luke Kollar was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anthony Triveri, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Ursuline's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for West Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ursuline will challenge Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Branch, they will take on Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
