Volleyball Recap: Bedford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pioneer on Tuesday, Bedford came back down to earth. The Kicking Mules fell just short of the Airport Jets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Kicking Mules were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2020.

Bedford took Airport into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 18-25, 20-25, 16-14.

When it comes to explaining why Bedford lost, don't look at Kiersten Soss. Despite the final result, she had ten digs. Soss has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Lexie Morris also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Bedford's defeat dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Airport, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 22-4-1 record this season.

Bedford will head out to square off against Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Airport, they will host Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
