Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jett Creighton and Andre Lee Lead Gunn to Victory

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Gunn and Monta Vista have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Titans walked away with a 19-6 win over the Matadors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Andre Lee and Jett Creighton. Lee rushed for 118 yards and two scores on only 15 carries while Creighton rushed for 67 yards and one TD on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Lee has posted since back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Monta Vista lost, don't look at Graham Ischo. Despite the final result, he rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown. An impressive showing, but Ischo really ramped things up playing D: he made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Gunn now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Monta Vista, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Gunn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-14 defeat against MacDonald on the 18th. As for Monta Vista, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The game will give the Matadors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
